In Kyrgyzstan today, July 10, is a day of silence before the repeated elections of deputies of city keneshes in Bishkek, Osh and Tokmok.
According to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On elections of deputies of local keneshes", pre-election campaigning begins from the day of the end of the registration period for all candidates, lists of candidates and ends 24 hours before the start of voting, i.e. from 8:00 a.m. on July 10, 2021.
“During this period, any campaigning is prohibited. This gives people time to think, analyze the information received during the entire campaign period, weigh everything and make a free decision. But at the same time, voting outside the premises is already underway among people who, due to their physical condition, cannot come to the polling station on election day,” explains Bakyt Samakov, an expert on election rights of Common Cause.
